FAQs

  1. Why isn’t TMF Scholarship payment credited to my college billing account?
    1. Has TMF received your grades for the prior semester along with your coming semester enrollment hours? All official transcripts and letter of activity must be received by:
      • January 25th for the fall semester
      • June 15th for the spring semester
    2. Have you changed college/university or trade school? All TMF recipients must alert TMF of any school transfers as soon as possible.
    3. Are you taking 12 or more credit hours? Eligibility for TMF requires 12 or more hours a semester and maintains a minimum of a 2.5 GPA for the semester.
    4. Each semester, TMF will verify enrollment with your school's registrar. Exact payment dates vary based on how quickly each school supplies us with the requested information, but you can generally expect to receive payment in your school bursar account between 9/1 and 10/15 in the Fall, and 2/1 and 3/15 in the Spring. TMF makes every effort possible to pay out scholarships as quickly as possible at the beginning of each semester.
  2. What is a Letter of Activity? The AGREEMENT signed by the recipient upon acceptance of the TMF Scholarship, outlines the Letter of Activity’s required information.
    • A one-page, typewritten report at the end of each semester is for review purposes. 
    • The name of the school attending or will be attending the following semester, the college address and your major, if declared.
    • A copy of your grades.
    • A description of non-scholastic activities, i.e., membership in organizations, participation in sports, various honors and awards, leadership positions, etc.
    • A description of part-time jobs during the school term or summer employment.
    • Other scholarships awarded to you and any financial aid you are receiving. Any other comments regarding your college experience.
  3. Will my college or university fax my transcript to TMF?
    1. Students may be able to sign a release and have their respective school fax the transcript to TMF. Some schools will accommodate. Please check with your school. TMF will continue to require your official transcript for verification.
  4. Should I alert TMF if I move or change my phone number?
    1. Students should update TMF of any changes in address, phone number, or email.
